The weather today was colder than normal but did not reach the low temperatures that were forecast.
All the golfers dressed in appropriate winter clothing would not really have noticed the cold even when the wind spiked up a bit.

Our partners today were Duncan & Rosalie Dyer and we had a fun day out on the course.  It was still wet in places but not enough to stop some great scores coming in.  Duncan was our champion today scoring a lovely birdie on the 15th and the boys beat the girls for the keno ticket after being all square at the half way.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford + 2 Ball Mixed Men and Ladies.

We had 79 starters.

RESULTS:

2 BALL TEAM RESULTS:

MEN:  Michael Crehan & Steve Cross - 47 Points on a countback

MIXED: Kevin O'Brien & Lorraine Bignall - 47 points on a countback

LADIES:  Lorraine Bignall & Julie Hazzard - 46 points

MEN'S SINGLES RESULTS:

WINNER: Leigh Kay - 40 points on a countback

RUNNER UP:  David Small - 40 points

WOMEN'S SINGLES RESULTS:

BALLS WENT TO:

MEN: 35 points on a countback

LADIES:  33 points on a countback

AMCR MEN: 69 (38 points)

AWCR LADIES:  73 (36 points)

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me:  Duncan Dyer had a birdie at the 15th; Rosalie Dyer parred the 15th after her second shot (heading immediately for the dam) hit the red hazard peg and rebounded back into the fairway; Peter Martin had a nice par on the 11th; Annie Brink had 40 points scoring 24 points on the front 9 (could it have been the new golf cart assistance); Bert Brink scored a couple of nice pars; Michael Norman had 4/4 on the 6th, 3/3 on the 14th; 4/3 on the 15th and 4/4 on the 17th; Pauline Norman was excited to have scored more than 30 points; Graham Brown & Wally Robertson beat the girls for the keno ticket after Graham had to play with no help for the last three holes; Wendy Stapleton & Jan Walker beat the boys "easy" for the Keno Ticket; David Small scored a nice steady 40 points; Ian Hartley won nearest the pin on the 12th; Vicki Foster & Lauren Matterson beat the boys for the keno ticket and Vicki was happy to have plus 30 points; Joyce Bosley & Lyn Cruickshanks lead all the way to beat the boys for the Keno Ticket; Warren Gray was on the 7th green for two to score 4/3; Brent Frewin had a birdie at the 15th; Annette Cross had 4/4 on the 9th; Steve Cross had 2/4 on the 14th; Mike Crehan had 3/4 on the 17th; Lorraine Bignall had 4 pointers at the 10th and the 17th; Kevin O'Brien had 21 points the front 9 and had five 3 pointers; Georgina Lamb had a gobbler 5/3 at the 16th; Jann Henebury had 4/3 on the 14th; my highlight was scoring a 3 pointer (Hooray!) at the 18th and getting out of all three bunkers in one.

DON'T FORGET NEXT WEEK IS THE FIRST ROUND OF THE TEAM SERIES AND THE BISTRO WILL BE OPEN FOR DINNER WITH A SPECIALS MENU.  GOOD WEATHER IS FORECAST SO IT SHOULD BE A GREAT DAY.
