Peter Martin and Kevin O'Brien changing over a wheel on the "yellow peril"

We had twelve volunteers this morning which gave us the opportunity to get on with our projects.
Kevin O'Brien arrived after morning tea to help change over a wheel on the F-Troop Garden Cart.
(Thanks Kevin!)

On hand were Trevor Harrison, Duncan Dyer, Rob Benson, Don Nicholls, Garry Trigg, Steve Hogg, Peter Martin, John Hollebon, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess, Carolyn Buttsworth and Jan Martin.

Trevor, Duncan and Garry did not have the use of the tractor today so Peter and Steve did pick up after they had trimmed the Elm tree at the 6th, removed nuisance trees shooting again at the 15th Tee and did some undercutting at the 12th.

Peter and Steve did rubbish pick up around the course as well as picking up after the tree gang.

Don took care of some plumbing work in the clubhouse.

Rob worked on some shelving in the Associates Room.

John worked in the BBQ area preparing the timber screening for painting and then did some hedging.

Di, Carolyn and Anne worked around the clubhouse, car parks and 1st and 10th tee.

I worked at the 14th bush toilets cleaning and tidying the area, watered and fertilised the newly planted pots at the 6th and weeded and tidied up the 6th garden after the boys had done the tree trimming, tidied up at the Ladies 3rd Tee, watered and fertilised the new plant at the ladies 9th tee, watered the pots in the a Wedding Gazebo, and did another partial clean up and trimming in the front street Garden.

Morning tea was very welcome - thank you Barto!

After morning tea we had to replace a tyre on the yellow Garden cart and we thank Kevin for coming in to help us with this job.

The course was very busy having social players as well as Super Senior Pennants matches being played.

Our best wishes to Geoff Bridge who is home recovering after a stint in hospital. Geoff is our resident tractor driver and is being missed.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

What an exceptional day we had at F-Troop this morning with some heavy projects on hand to do.
The kitchen was to be painted, the bark spread all over the 1st and 10th tees to be cleaned up, two fallen trees to be cut up and removed and a fat spillage outside the kitchen area to be removed as well as our normal maintenance work.  Fortunately we had 16 volunteers on duty today including two new members Stephen Hogg and Terry Coyle.  Welcome to Stephen an Terry.

On hand today were Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O'Brien, Geoff Bridge, Don Nicholls, Rob Benson, Warren Gray, Steve Hogg, Terry Coyle, Peter Martin, Sam Knox, John Hollebon, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess, Carolyn Buttsworth and Jan Martin

The tree gang of Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Geoff Bridge, Kevin O'Brien, Terry Coyle, Sam Knox, Rob Benson were kept busy removing and disposing of the fat spill outside of the kitchen and repairing the garden there, cutting up and removing two fallen trees and cleaning up.

Warren Gray and Steve Hogg cleaned up rubbish and loose timber around the course.

Peter Martin and Don Nicholls worked in the kitchen supervising the painting

John Hollebon trimmed the hedge at the 14th and trimmed the hedge at the putting green.

Di Beechey, Carolyn Buttsworth and Anne Burgess cleaned up the BBQ Garden area, car parks, 1st and 10th tees, putting green garden.

I worked at the 14th bush toilet area, dead headed agapanthus at the 14th, 15th and the 5th, wired up the elk horns at the 5th, watered the pots in the Wedding Gazebo, cleaned out the gazebo including picking up bark in the wedding garden, cleaned out bark from the gardens at the 1st and 10th, had another chomp at weeding the retainer wall a the Men's 10th tee.

We had a huge morning tea with the inclusion of Trevor Blackburn's kitchen team and we really appreciated Barto's selection of morning tea breads and slices.  Thank you Barto!

It is amazing what can be done with a bit of Member power.  A big thank you to all our members who volunteered their time today. We can do so much more when we have extra hands.

The club kitchen is really starting to look fantastic,  new walls, new floor, new light fittings, all in sparkling clean white and that is before all the cooking equipment goes back in after being steam cleaned within an inch of its life.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

DSR LADIES: 73

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Ron Puiatti had a birdie at the 3rd; Graham Smith had a birdie at the 14th; Anne Smith had a credible score of square after not playing golf for a year and a half;

Walter Loschie had birdies at the 10th and 15th; Phil Wilson had a birdie on the 10th; Nan Richards was an improved golfer; Mona Maher had some good pars;  Judy Ruitenberg had a lovely day on the Village Green; Brent Frewin had 5 birdies today - 4/14/15/17/18 (a bit showoffy after a great round yesterday of 43 points); Lorraine Bignall had birdies at the 2nd and the 18th; Clyde Cruickshanks had birdies at the 2nd and the 7th; Marianne Lanham had a birdie on the 15th; Annette Cross had 6/square after being in the dam on the 10th; Wal Bailey played steady golf under Fay's instructions; Doon Delaney and Robyn Johnston enjoyed being out on the course playing at the back of the competition; Spencer Walklate was an improved player; my highlights (apart from winning the singles event) was not getting into any of the bunkers and only having one wipe.

We had a large contingent from Gosford Golf Club enjoying dinner at Gosford Hotel after golf today celebrating Jan Walker and Annette Cross's birthdays.
