F-Troop - Monday 28th April 2014

Luckily we had no rain to interrupt our projects for today.

We only had a small crew today because of other commitments, holidays etc.

On hand we had Trevor Harrison, Don Nicholls, Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Rob Benson, Peter Martin & Jan Martin.

The Tree Gang of Duncan Dyer and Geoff Bridge trimmed trees and shrubs around the 17th green assisted by Peter Martin, Don Nicholls & Trevor Harrison with rubbish removal.

Rob Benson was on pick up duty and cleaned up rubbish and loose timber from around the course.

Trevor & Don (the two plumbers) did a great job of repairing the taps in the restroom at the Pro Shop before giving a helping hand with the trees.

I tidied up at the bush toilets and had another bite at the front street garden, trimming the ground cover and removing the native grasses.

Morning tea of iced buns and cakes was appreciated by all.  Thanks Chef Brad!

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!.

OTHER NEWS:

Gosford Ladies played at Mona Vale Open Day today against 26 teams and came in a credible 6th place.
Congratulations to Di Beechey, Bev Adams, Jan Fitzgerald & Kathy Small.  Well done ladies!

F-Troop - Monday 21st April 2014

Being a Public Holiday weekend we only had a small contingent of ladies volunteering this morning.

Di Beechey, Anne Burgess & Carolyn Buttsworth put in some good hours working around the clubhouse, BBQ Garden, Car Parks, Bush Toilets and cleaned down the front step area.

Great work girls! -  as the clubhouse area would have been very untidy after a busy weekend.

Next week we should be back to normal with hopefully some back up workers.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Golf - Sunday 20th April 2014

We had a perfect Easter Sunday Day for golf - blue sky and sunshine which we enjoyed after a steamy two weeks in China.

Our golfing partners today were Wally & Rhonda Robertson and we had a good day enjoying our course at home.  We thought it would be easy after facing the difficult courses in China - however we were bought back to the reality of narrow fairways and trees close to the firing line.  We had a fun day and Wally & Rhonda are always great company. (No photo today as they have had their photo taken 6 times a day for the last two weeks - so I gave them a break)

My apologies for the very late reports over the last two weeks.  While away in China I had plenty of access to free WI FI however the Government of China have blocked access to all social media sites including Facebook and Blogs to all residents and visitors to China.  A special licence is required by approved persons for access to media sites.

The blog is now up to date and you can view all late postings by selecting from the side menu or by clicking on "older posts" at the bottom of the page.  Eventually when time allows I will  have all of my photos on my travel blog. I will advise you when that is ready.

F-Troop - Monday 14th April 2014

We had a lay day at Sanya, visiting the pearl factory, silk factory etc admiring things that we could not afford and then visited the Deer Looking Backward Park with beautiful views overlooking Sanya.

I believe the weather at home has not been too good and with a lot of the F-Troopers away there was not a lot of volunteers on duty.  Not a lot can be done in bad weather so we will have a catch up after Easter.
