Golf in Scotland - July 2017

For those of you who are wondering how Stimo is liking his golf experiences in Scotland the above photos will give you an idea of the stunning courses they are playing.

Stimo says he has now played six of the best links courses in the world.  They attended the Open prior to playing these golf courses and are now heading to St Andrews to play the Old Course.

I think he will have some stories to tell when he gets home.

Team Extraordinairs at the 1st Tee

Duncan Dyer, Rosalie Dyer, Lauren Matterson & Col Matterson
(our opposition) at the 1st Tee

We had an early spring day to celebrate our first round of the very popular Team Series. Our Team of golf extraordinaires were Di Beechey, Bob Thomas, Peter Martin & Jan Martin with our opposition members being Col Matterson, Lauren Matterson , Duncan Dyer and Rosalie Dyer.  The weather was very acceptable with the course playing well.  We found the fast greens were a bit scary as Peter and I had not played for a month, but I must say I did appreciate the extra run that was on the course. We did have some good highlights, the best of which was my 4/4 at the 13th and Duncan's brilliant gobbler par on the 18th to win the Keno ticket (which I conveniently forgot about after golf)

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford for Men and Ladies  + Team Series Best Three Scores to Count.  The Team Series runs over three months, July, August and September with the overall winners announced at the end of the September Series.

We had 84 starters in the Team Series with 14 daily players.
