As part of our day's excursion we dropped in at Horizon's Golf Club. They are re-hashing the 18th hole back to the club house with a new approach and new green which will have a bunker trap at the back and a small side bunker on the water side.

We had 124 starters.

Our playing partners today were Paul and Angelique Scholberg and we had a great day on the village green. Our best highlights of the day were a nearest the pin for Peter on the 5th hole and nearest the pin for Paul on the 12th.

F-Troopers were kept busy today working through into the heat of the morning.

On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Kevin O'Brien, Don Nicholls, Steve Hogg, Peter Martin, John Hollebon, Rob Benson, Terry Coyle, Di Beechey and Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today were clearing the Out-of-Bounds area along the 17th, Gardens tidied on the 2nd Tee and the 8th Tee, Roof of the Bush Toilets repaired, Loose Timber and Rubbish pick up around the course, Wedding Gardens weeded, trimmed and watered, Bush Toilets cleaned, gardens watered at the 14th Greenspace, garden tidied and watered at the 6th tranquility garden, 3rd ladies tee tidied and steps swept, watering done at the Bike Garden, ladies 9th tee garden and pots at the 9th green and wedding garden, wedding gazebo swept, lattice work on the vertical garden completed. 

We were very appreciative of our morning tea this morning as the temperature was getting too hot for manual work. Many thanks to Barto for our morning tea which always hits the spot.

The Late Les Arndell

It is with great sadness that it has been announced that Les Arndell passed away early this morning - Saturday 19th November 2016.  

Les has been a long time member, club supporter in a lot of ways and for many years has been the Club Patron. Les will be sadly missed especially by our long term members who would have great memories of him.

The funeral arrangements will be announced when they come to hand.

A nice cooler day was appreciated for our F-Troop projects today.

On hand we had Trevor Harrison, Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Kevin O'Brien, Rob Benson, Terry Coyle, Steve Hogg, John Hollebon, Nigel Asken, Peter Martin, Di Beechey and Jan Martin.

The high winds have caused the usual drop of loose timber, small sticks and leaves creating mess everywhere. 

Our major project was timber and rubbish pick up.  Other projects were tree maintenance; firewood preparation; weed removal from the 3rd dam; trimming of the hedges; tidying up around the clubhouse, first and 10th tee; watering pots at the putting green, wedding garden, 9th green, 1st and 10th tees, 9th ladies tee, bike garden, 6th tranquility garden; cleaning the bush toilets; planting in donated plants at the 14th Greenspace and watering them in; tidying the 6th tranquility garden; tidying and securing mandevilleas at the 10th tee; painting the framework for the vertical garden, cleaning up the gardens at the 1st and 10th tees and watering the gardens; tidying up the Ladies 3rd tee.

Sue Suters Ovarian Cancer Fund Charity Day - 6th Annual Charity Day

The Sue Suters Ovarian Cancer Fund held their 6^th annual golf and dinner charity day at the Gosford Golf Club.

104 golfers were in attendance and enjoyed a fabulous day on our course with sublime weather. As per normal the course was in super condition due to the efforts of the ground staff.

The winners were the team of Luke Suters, Sam Brown, Tom O’Gorman and Josh Scholberg. As a matter of fact they also won the mystery picture competition.

The dinner experience after golf for all those that were smart enough to book was magnificent. Chef Shea, sous chef Ben and their staff produced a wonderful two course meal that would rival any restaurant on the coast.

We  had the pleasure to have Liesle Tesch as our guest speaker and the audience was enthralled by her story.  Rod Amos, our auctioneer extraordinaire, produced more results for the items than anyone would have expected.

As a small charity we have to thank all our sponsors, participants and the staff of the Gosford Golf Club. We raised over $42.000,00 and that is all because of you.

Since this was conceived as a little golf tournament, with no great expectation  we have raised over $240.000,00. All this money will be given to people on the Central Coast. So a big thanks to all of you.
