Information on the Dave Frazer Cup

 For those of you who are not aware of the criteria to enter the Dave Frazer Cup I have received the following information:

The Dave Frazer Cup is a competition that runs over 12 months. It replaced the old Wednesday afternoon 5-dollar club.

We have at present 39 members that play in it week to week. 

The only criteria is that you place your name on the list, pay the $5.00 with your comp fee and you’re in

We are running an eclectic as well as an average score comp.

$20.00 of each week goes to the end of year prize pool and the remainder gets divided between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd

I hope this informations helps more people who wish to participate in the Dave Frazer Cup

COVID TWO WEEKS LOCK DOWN EFFECTS ON OUR GOLF COURSE - Saturday 26th June 2021

 I understand that the following events have been effected by the COVID-19 Lockdowns on the Central Coast - being part of the Greater Sydney area.

Golf will be reduced to Medley Golf and Social Play for the next two weeks.

Ladies Golf will be suspended but ladies can participate in Medley Competitions

Mens Golf will be suspended but men can participate in Medley Competitions

F-Troop will suspended for 2 weeks as we are considered non-essential workers.

We had 11 volunteers this morning to help with our projects.

On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Rob Benson, Les Wielinga, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, John Hollebon, Ron Gowing, Steve Robinson, Di Beechey and Jan Martin.

Projects worked on were Rubbish and Loose Timber pick up around the course, Firewood preparation, Firewood delivery, hedge maintenance, clean up of the car parks of rubbish, clean up under the clubhouse, clean up of the paths at the clubhouse, 1st and 10th tees, wedding garden and practice nets, weeding and mulching of the gardens at the 1st and 10th tees.

The course was very wet today so we were restricted where we could work with carts and heavy equipment.

We enjoyed morning tea after a hard mornings work.

Masters Pennants Results - Sunday 20th June 2021

 

Cold, windy and WET at Gosford today and the Golf course was not a great place to be but we stuck it out and completed our match against Everglades. It was important for them to have a win as they were a chance to go through to the finals so the match needed to be played.

 

It was a close match and at the end of the day the match was All square so in hindsight we could have agreed to a draw before the start. Great win to Michael Sissons who played his first game of Pennants today. Michel won 5 and 4.

 

I would like to thank all the boys that played this year. They were very competitive and showed a great deal of sportsmanship. I would also like to thank all our opponents as they were friendly and a pleasure to play. All our matches were very enjoyable and we are all looking forward to next year.

Another great day and we were well looked after by our hosts at Everglades Golf Club. The weather was fantastic and the course was in very good condition.

 

Its tough to beat teams on their home course but we did OK. We were beaten 6 matches to 2 but could have won a few more. Good wins to Duncan Brown who won comfortably and Ray Burns who filled in while several of players were enjoying the courses in Queensland. Ray played number 2 and won 3 and 2.

 

We play our last game at Gosford next week and look forward to the rematch against Everglades.
