Senior Pennants Results - Sunday 26th February 2023

We played Shelly Beach at Wyong today and the course was in great condition.

Our A grade did well against a strong Shelly team but went down 4/2.

B grade were playing to stay at the top of the table and had a great win 3/1 with Dean and Brett hanging in to win 1 up on the last hole.

C grade was the match of the day with George Lee stepping up at the last minute. George was keen and he wanted to play number 1 and after 3 holes was 2 up against Shelly’s gun player.  He went to 3 up after 6, back to square after 9 before he was down 2 after 12. He finished vey strong though to square his match and C Grade won 3 ½ to ½. Well done George and all our players.

Two games to go and were traveling along nicely.

Golf - Monday 20th February 2023

 Hello from beautiful Gosford.

We did not have any competition golf today.

Rain is forecast for tomorrow - hopefully after golf.

Seniors Pennants Results - Sunday 19th February 2023

This week we played a strong Wyong team at Mangrove Mountain. The course was in good condition given the thunderstorm that hit the area on Saturday night.

Mangrove is a difficult course to master and our C grade did an exceptional job winning 4 nil. They were a very happy team when they came into the clubhouse and I believe that this win will give them the confidence to finish the year of very well.

Our A grade were beaten in a very close contest 3 ½ to 2 ½ and B grade suffered their first loss 3/1 going down in two games on the last hole.

On to Wyong next week to play Shelly Beach and this result could decide the B grade pennant.

Hello from beautiful Barwon heads.

We enjoyed a ferry trip from the Mornington Peninsula to Barwon Heads where we are settled for 6 days and ready to play the beautiful golf courses here.

We called into the Barwon Heads Golf Club today to check it out and we were not disappointed. It does live up to its reputation of being the best Golf Course and Clubhouse on the Australian mainland. The course looked magnificent and the clubhouse was all class and history. It was a very impressive clubhouse steeped in history and the one could spend hours looking through all the memorabilia presented in glass cases. It is a private Golf Course and dress rules applied.

F - Troop - Monday 13th February 2023.

We had some rainy weather but that did not deter our F-Troopers for turning up to volunteer their time helping to keep our course as good as possible.

The rain did interrupt some of our projects however some did soldier on.

Projects worked on today were tree maintenance between the 10th and 18th, cleaned up around the Pro Shop and the BBQ area, clean up and mulching of the garden at the Practice putting area.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Pennants Results - Sunday 12th February 2023

Gosford played a very strong Wyong Team at Breakers.

We had a few players unavailable in A Grade and after a late withdrawal I want to thank Michael Connors who answered a late call and played number 2 and was very competitive against a scratch marker from Wyong.

Our young gun Conor O’Callaghan also stood up and played Wyong’s number 1. Conor was 1 up going into the back nine and gave his opponent a real scare.

A Grade lost the match 5/1 but with 3 matches to go are still in with a chance to win the pennant.

Our B Grade was again strong and won 3/1 and remain undefeated.

C Grade lost 3/1 but remain in contention with 4 matches to go.

Next week it’s off to the Mountain for a game against Kooindah Waters.

Our Juniors are also going really well and had their second win of the year 5/1.

Presentation night at the Rye Hotel following our last game on this side of the Peninsula.

Our last day of golf at the Mornington Peninsula was played at Rosebud Country Club.

The weather was unkind with early showers and a cool windy day. We finished the day dry but cold with our jumpers coming off briefly.

We had a good day with mixed scores depending on how many bunkers we found.

Wally Robertson and Geraldine Turner were out champions today and we celebrated presentation at the Rye Hotel.

Tomorrow we venture on via ferry to Barwon Heads where we continue our golfing tour.
