Rubbish and weeds removed from the 15th Men’s Tee Garden

The course was busy with Vets players today but that did not stop us from getting on with our projects.

On hand today we had Sam Knox, Duncan Dyer, Kevin O’Brien, Trevor Harrison, Rob Benson, David Medcalf, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Lyn Bates, Leeanne Binns and Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today were Loose Timber and rubbish pick up around the course; Tree maintenance around the course; Repairs to the 18th boundary fence; pick up of garden rubbish around the course; weeding and maintenance to the 3rd Ladies Tee Garden compliments of our honorary F-Troopers Lyn Bates and Leeanne Binns; more mulch to the 15th Roundabout garden; more weeding at the Men’s 15th Tee Garden in readiness for mulching; watering the front gardens.

You may have noticed some good F-Troop work through the week where Trevor Harrison and Don Nicholls laid pavers to the putting green and Frank Potter completed the mulching of the 7th tee gardens.

We enjoyed a lazy morning tea of fresh sandwiches in the sunshine.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE !

We want more of this and it was great to see our clubhouse full of patrons enjoying the night, enjoying the meal and the entertainment.

We thank our Sponsors this year - Ron and Lynn Puiatti who made a big effort to make this series possible. Thank you Ron and Lynn.

Thank you to Bob Thomas, our Captain who participated in today’s Event and did the Presentation to the members.

Thank you to our new Vice President Debbie Flanagan who organised the day, meals, room presentation to perfection with some good help from the Ladies Committee.

15th Roundabout garden partly mulched

15th Men’s Tee Garden in the process of being weeded

and getting ready to mulch

The hot weather has arrived as predicted so an early start this morning was a good idea.

We had 12 volunteers today including three of our lady members who have put their hands up to be honorary F-Troopers to enable them to adopt a garden on the course.

On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O’Brien, Rob Benson, David Medcalf, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Ron Gowing, Lyn Bates, Leeanne Binns, Carolyn Buttsworth and Jan Martin.

I was very happy to welcome our honorary F-Troopers today. Lyn Bates and Leeanne Binns who have taken on the 5th Ladies Tee gardens as well as Carolyn Buttsworth and Leeanne Binns who have taken on the 2nd dam garden. The girls have done an amazing job bringing the gardens back to life and giving the TLC that they need.  My sincere thanks for that.

I understand the corner is referred to as the BBB BEND. (Binns, Bates and Buttsworth)

Projects worked on today were loose timber and rubbish pick up around the course; firewood preparation; a start made to repair the fence at the 18th; tidy up of the paths in front of the clubhouse, paths to the 1st and 10th tee, practice nets and practice greens; more mulch onto the 15th roundabout garden, weeding of the 15th Men’s Tee Garden getting it ready for mulching; measuring up for paving work to be done at the Practice Green.

The temperature had lifted by 10 o’clock so we were happy to call it a day and enjoy our morning tea of fresh sandwiches.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
