I said a prayer for all the golfers to the golf goddess at the 6th

We had eleven volunteers at F-Troop this morning which helped us get some good projects done.

On hand were Duncan a Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O'Brien, Rob Benson, Warren Gray, Peter Martin, Don Nicholls, John Hollebon, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin

The Tree Gang of Duncan, Trevor and Kevin removed dead trees from the 17th dogleg garden and cut up a supply of firewood.

Warren and Rob did rubbish pick up around the course.

Peter and Don tidied up some of the tees and did rubbish pick up.

John trimmed the yellow hedge at the 2nd, trimmed the shrubs and tidied the gardens there.

Di worked on the BBQ area and the Wedding Garden.

Anne worked in Camellia Way.

I cleaned up at the Bush Toilets, tidied the 6th Tranquility Garden, tidied up the Ladies 3rd Tee and the 5th Tee, trimmed the lavender plants at the 16th, checked the water feature at the 1st, watered the mandavillas in the Wedding Garden Gazebo.

Morning Tea was very welcome after a hard mornings work. Chef Alice excelled herself with toasted sandwiches and Chelsea buns.  Thank you Chef Alice!

After morning tea Kevin O'Brien continued to clean up at the back of the clubhouse and helped Peter Martin to affix parking signs in the back car park.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

(Click on the image to enlarge it to viewing size)

We had a very fortunate day today for the 2015 Mixed Foursomes Championship. Overnight we had about 1 ml of rain which was followed by light showers that eventually lightened to a non event.  The course was very heavy having no sunshine or wind to dry it up however we all managed to get around and finish in daylight.

We had great company today playing with Ray and Carolyn Buttsworth and Walter Loschi and Kim Cardiff.  We did have some highlights - the best of which was a birdie from Wally and Kim on the 15th. Kim hit a good drive from the tee, Wally followed up with a fantastic shot to the green and Kim sank the putt.

The Golf Event of the day was the Mixed Foursomes Championsip 2015.

We did have some withdrawals due to the bad weather but overall we did have a reasonable field.

It is great news! The club is back on the Internet - hooray! We can now book on for golf via our computers/iPad/phones, check scores, handicap etc.  we do not realise how much we depend on the Internet and how much we are inconvenienced when we cannot contact the club or they cannot contact us.

A reminder about this Thursday night when the club are conducting an information evening. Don't rely on gossip - come along and hear for yourself what the current situation is and you will also have an opportunity to ask questions. I hope to see you all there.

Now is the time to show your support to the club!

Here is something good to do and may solve all of your putting problems.

We had a lovely day for golf today.  The course was very soft and still wet in places but the blue sky and sunshine was welcome.

My playing partners today were Rae Brown, Ronda Jordon and Marea McGann.  The company was great and pity about the golf.  We were not even good players out of luck but did have moments of brilliance and some very close to the hole chips.  We had a couple of four pointers and some good three pointers however got our timing wrong for a 1x2x3 match.

The Golf Event of the day was a Ladies Open Day -Team Stableford 1x2x3.

We had 104 starters with visitors from Terrigal, Shelly Beach, Mangrove Mountain and Wyong.

Congratulations to the Ladies Committee for running a very successful day which raised $1000 towards Ronald McDonald House at Gosford Hospital - a very worthy cause.
