after the 4 hole play off.

We had a lovely day for the playoff of the 2016 Mixed Foursomes Championship.

The Match was played in great spirit and followed by a small gallery of members who had come to give  our players some encouragement and support.

Steve and Di won decisively over the 4 holes played and are worthy winners of the Mixed Foursomes Champions title.  Kerry and Norma put in a good effort but the pars that they needed to keep in touch with Steve and Di did not happen this time.  Non the less if was great to watch how the good golfers do it and congratulations go to all of the players today for being such a good example to all of us.

CONGRATULATION STEVE AND DI THOMLINSON - WINNERS OF THE 2016 FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIP!

A Blast from the Past- Peter Churcher Era

There is some interesting reading here especially for our older club members and those who would like to be aware of the history of the club.

My thanks to Marea Parsons for the above information that was on display today at Peter Churcher's Wake.

There were many of Gosford Golf Club's entities in attendance at Peter's celebration of life today - both young and old who have held Peter in high esteem over the years.

I hope you enjoy the above articles and there are probably some that you can relate to and they bring back good memories of the history of Gosford Golf Club.

Changes in wake arrangements for Peter Churcher - no longer at the golf club

I have been advised that the wake following Peter Churcher's funeral will now be held at The Tall Timbers Hotel and not at Gosford Golf Club as previously advised because there are no private rooms available at the club at that time.

Golf - Tuesday 24th July 2016 - President vs Captain Day

Photo of Gosford Golf Course - dam reflection showing the moon, Mars, Antares(the brightest star in Scorpio) and Saturn - spectacular over the Eastern sky.
Mars is the dot almost directly over the moon. About the same distance away, but at 2 o'clock position is Anteres. Saturn lies a little closer to the moon but at the 4o'clock position.
Mars is currently at its closest and therefor the brightest that it will be for the next two years.

My thanks to Darren Rickett for this amazing photo of our course and also for his information on the solar system above us that creates these wonderful images.
