We had 9 volunteers this morning and the showers stayed away so we could get on with our projects.

On hand were Sam Knox, Duncan Dyer, Kevin O’Brien, Trevor Harrison, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, John Hollebon, Ron Gowing and Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today were Tree Maintenance, firewood preparation, hedge maintenance, garden maintenance at the 2nd tee, 6th tranquility garden, 14th Bush Toilets, tidy up of paths underneath the clubhouse, down to the 1st and 10th tees, wedding garden and practice nets, maintenance to the yellow garden cart, cleaning of the bush toilets at the 14th.

Fresh sandwiches for morning tea was much appreciated by us all.

The light showers this morning did not put us off from our volunteer work today.

We had 9 volunteers which meant we could get some good work done. The field was full of vets players today - 160 starters I believe.

On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Sam Knox, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O’Brien, Paul Smith, John Hollebon, Peter Martin, David Medcalf and Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today were tree maintenance, firewood preparation, loose timber and rubbish pick up around green course, hedge maintenance, weeding of gardens and clubhouse maintenance.

Thankfully the sun emerged and we could enjoy our morning tea in comfort.

Sadly today we heard of the passing of John Van Donk. 

 - one of our long time members.

I will pass on information of his funeral arrangements when they come to hand.

We had a great final day at Hawks Nest today - the weather was beautiful and we missed the looming storm that hit Gosford and Sydney.

The Event of the day was a 2 person Ambrose and Gosford winners were prominent in the results.

We have had a very successful week with Gosford players featuring in the prizes every day.

The Hawks Nest Golf course has been a pleasure to play this week, the course was in great condition, the staff and pro shop very friendly and the Board and Committee members were very evident in their support of the event with member volunteers for spotting, starting the field and Presentations after the event.

We had another magic day at Hawks Nest today - the weather was perfect and the course was in great order. The fairways were like velvet, the greens tricky and challenging, the new concrete paths were very impressive and the staff and volunteers today were exceptional.

Gosford golfers were well represented in the trophy list which was very generous thanks to their many sponsors. (Even Jan and Peter Martin won trophies)

Our star winners today were Helen Broadbent and Gay Bryant who performed well during the Summer Classic.

We all enjoyed a good dinner dance and presentation tonight to celebrate the winners of the Summer Classic. Tomorrow we are playing a 2 person Ambrose to finish the week.

We had a great day at Hawks Nest today - enjoying a beautiful weather day + playing on a top course that is in fantastic condition. 

Gosford players did well (once again) and we are keen to see the end result on Thursday.

Our playing partners today were Phil and  Allison Lumby from Toukley who were great company and the highlight of the day was Allison coming in second place in C Grade.
