F-Troop - Monday 29th July 2013

We had a beautiful day for F-Troop work today.  We had eleven volunteers which meant we could get some good projects done.

We had Trevor Harrison, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Duncan Dyer, Martin Gallagher, Rob Benson, Garry Trigg, Warren Gray, Bruce White, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin to share the load. Our tractor driver Geoff Bridge is off duty while he recovers from surgery.  Wishing you all the best from the Troopers Geoff!

The Tree Gang of Duncan Dyer, Martin Gallagher, Garry Trigg and Bruce White did the under cutting of trees on the 1st and 2nd fairways.

Rob Benson & Warren Gray did some good rubbish pick up around the course.

Peter Martin, Trevor Harrison & Don Nicholls did some general maintenance - fixing a chain to the cart shed door, removing a dead Crepe Myrtle tree at the 10th, filled some holes with soil at the 10th, cleaned up the old garden soil deposit pile at the 16th fairway, cleared up the rubbish from the trimming of all the crepe myrtles around the course and placed a staghorn at the 4th fairway.

Anne Burgess cleaned up the BBQ area including the BBQ kitchen, watered all the newly planted gardens at the 14th, cleaned the bush toilets & watered the gardens there, planted some new camellias in Camellia way and watered the gardens there, planted out some Kangaroo Paws (donated by Don Nicholls) at the 10th garden, watered the gardens at the 1st and 10th included the new red hedge, watered the bike garden and helped with the crepe myrtles.

With the good help of Don Nicholls I trimmed all of the Crepe Myrtles on the course, cleaned up the ladies 3rd tee, watered the new staghorn (donated by Sam Knox), watered the new plant at the tranquility garden at the 6th, watered the new grevilleas at the 13th ladies garden, watered some of the new trees, chipped weeds from around the Lemon Magnolia, watered the potted plants at the wedding garden, watered the gardens around the front steps and cleaned down the front steps and entrance to the clubhouse.

For Morning Tea we celebrated Don Nicholls 74th birthday (coming up this Thursday) with a beautiful freshly cooked sponge cake with Jam & Cream made by Chef John.
Thanks Chef John!   It got the popular vote from the troopers - leaving a few small left overs for the Pro Shop and Office Staff.

After morning tea the troopers helped to load up a firewood supply into Martin's trailer for delivery.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
