"Wilko" would have been very impressed with the number of people at his service at the Greenway Chapel and his wake at the Gosford Sailing Club - not to mention the number of Gosford Golfers who gave up their traditional game of Wednesday golf to pay their respects to him.
The Greenway Chapel was standing room only and overflowed down both sides outside the chapel for those who could not fit inside. A very emotional & heartfelt tribute was made by Bub Wilkinson (Garry's brother) and Trevor Andrews (Garry's clayton brother). The Gosford Sailing Club was literally packed to the rafters for Garry's wake where there were many tales told of the old days of rugby league and Garry's sporting achievements. It was a very fitting tribute to a "good bloke" and Garry will be very much missed by everyone who knew him.
The Golf Event of the day was a Men's Single Stableford + 2 Ball Team.
We had 173 starters with 9 visitors from Everglades, Mangrove Mountain, Morisset, Muree, O/S, Terrigal & Toukley.
