F-Troop Monday 31st October 2011

F-Troopers had a very productive morning with the help of some good weather.

We had 13 volunteers which was very helpful as we had a huge camphor Laurel tree to be taken down on the 17th which needed some hands on deck.

We had Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Martin Gallagher, Warren Gray, John Coddington, Peter Martin, Sam Knox, Rob Benson, George Foster, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess, Georgina Lamb and Jan Martin

All the boys worked on the tree removal at the 17th and then backed up with rubbish removal on the 1st fairway and also removed two old shrubs from the 10th tee bubbler garden.

Di Beechey and Anne Burgess cleaned up the BBQ area and underneath the clubhouse and then worked on their new garden at the back of the 10th tee which is coming on nicely now.  They have planted in some new shrubs, mulched the garden and also fixed up a problem with leaking ponds.  This garden is still work in progess and it is looking better every week.

Georgina Lamb helped me to transplant some hedge plants from the 10th tee bubbler garden to the sand bucket area.  The last of the old shrubs have been removed & the garden has had a good hit of fertilizer in preparation for the arrival of new plants.  We need to raise $1,000 to completely finish this 1st/10th tee area gardens so that all the gardens are fresh and new.  Georgina also helped me to plant our some Kalanchoe plants - donated to us by Evelyn Dixon.  Thanks Evelyn.  Your donations have been greatly appreciated.
We also cleaned up & mulched the gardens at the street entrance steps & watered in some of the gardens, washed down the front entrance steps, cleaned up some of the car park area..

George Foster and John Coddington did some maintenance work inside the clubhouse as well as helping out on the course.

Sam Knox had a busy morning cutting up more firewood for us to raise money for the beautification of the course.

It was a busy day for all the troopers and morning tea of fruit pastries and mini muffins were enjoyed by all.
Thanks Chef John!

Through the week Martin Gallagher & Geoff Bridge collected two trailer loads of mulch for our gardens.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
