F- Troop - Monday 10th October 2011

We had a nice sunny day for F-Troop so some good work could be done.

There were nine volunteers on duty - Jan Walker, Anne Burgess, Di Beechey, Georgina Lamb, Warren Gray, Garry Trigg, Bruce White, Geoff Bridge and Martin Gallagher.

Di, Anne, Georgina and Jan transplanted some hedge plants from the bubbler garden to the Men's 10th tee & replaced the "yesterday, today & tomorrow" plants that were transferred down to the native garden at the 6th.
The girls also transplanted the two fig trees in the wedding garden into bigger pots and painted the recycled pots with green paint, tidied up around the 1st tee and helped to spread garden mulch.

Warren, Garry, Bruce, Geoff & Martin collected four trailer loads of mulch for the gardens, cleaned along the Racecourse Road area where there is to some fencing repairs done next week.

After all that hard work the morning tea of beautiful scones, cream and strawberry jam were very welcome.  Thanks Chef John!  (John was in mourning after England's loss in the World Cup).

I understand that we had 60 mm of rain on Friday night so we did not take all of the rain to China.

Di Beechey & Anne Burgess took over "wedding garden" duties while I have been on holidays and they had to work overtime to prepare the wedding garden area for the weekend wedding after the wild storm of Friday which caused a lot of water damage.  Thanks for your efforts Di and Anne.

YES!  WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
