Golf - Sunday 21st November 2010























































It was a great day for golf today with a nice breeze to keep the temperature pleasant.
We did have a pleasant day in fact with our playing partners Mark & Anne Stimpson who are always great company. My highlight of the day was having Mark save me from four penalty points when twice I almost hit the wrong ball.
The Event of the day was a 2 Ball Team + Single Stableford Mixed Men and Ladies.
We had 128 starters with 8 visitors from Bathurst, Gold Creek, Marrickville, Morisset, Terrigal and Twin Creeks.
RESULTS:
2 BALL MENS: Robbie Whyte & Eddie Rogers - 47 points
2 BALL MIXED: Don Bush & Louise Bush - 48 points
2 B ALL WOMENS: Tania Burt & Doreen Trigg - 48 points on a countback
MEN'S SINGLES RESULTS:
WINNER: Don Bush - 42 points
RUNNER UP: Eddie Rogers - 41 points
3RD: Sam Bagala - 39 points

WINNER: Lyn Cruickshanks - 41 points

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Mark Stimpson had birdies at the 14th and at the 15th (out of the bunker & into the hole); Joyce Bosley had 4/4 at the 16th; Dick Bosley had 4/4 on the 1st; David Small had a special relationship with the 3rd dam sharing three of his golf balls; Team of Doreen Trigg & Tania Burt combined well for their 48 points; Josh Hanley scored a great 4/3 on the 17th getting his shot through the trees & over the bunker; Richard Casey had birdies on the 4th and the 12th; Arthur Collien chipped in for 3/4 on the 15th; Lyn Cruickshanks played a lovely steady game for her 41 points; Mary Beard had 4/4 on the 16th and the girls beat the boys with the help of team leader Mary Bromwich; Elly Van Den Berg had two 4 pointers; Rhonda Robertson had birdies on the 11th & the 16th; Ron Puiatti had a birdie 3/4 on the 11th; Des Wilson had four 3 pointers in a row on the front 9; George Foster won $1's off both the President and the Vice President; Vicki Foster & Rosalie Dyer beat the boys 6 & 5; Annie Brink played a nice steady game; Bert Brink had a birdie on the 1st hole.
Another important highlight of the day: Kay Frewin's grandson Darcy scored his first 100 runs in representative cricket today
