Golf - Sunday 14th November 2010

It was another blistering hot day combined thankfully with some breeze to keep the weather bearable. The threatened afternoon storms did not arrive & we finished our golf in nice time to enjoy the air conditioned comfort of the 19th hole. The wind did get strong & blustery at times during the afternoon & we lost a big branch at the 1st tee (photo attached) & luckily nobody was underneath it.
The Event of the day was a 2 Ball Team + Single Stableford Mixed Men and Ladies.
There was a draw for partners which gave us mixed teams with unrelated players which was a new and interesting concept. My partner was Dick Bosley and our playing partners were Ronda Jordon and Kevin O'Brien. We had a lovely day with good company & some good golf from my partners. Our biggest highlight was Dick scoring five 3 pointers in a row including a sandie out of the bunker & into the hole at the 14th. I did scramble to contribute one 3 pointer for the day & the rest was left to Dick.
We had 85 starters with no visitors.
