Today's Event of the day was a "Las Vegas" Ambrose. I did not play golf today as Peter has gone on a golf tour of Nelson's Bay ( as one does ) & I had a day babysitting our lovely grandson Joel with son Rod (photo attached). I missed presentation tonight as I had forgotten that an Ambrose is a much quicker game than normal and I was a late arrival at the club. We were lucky that the predicted showers did not happen & the weather was very acceptable.
We had 87 starters with visitors from Morisset, Teven, Tuggerah Lakes & Terrigal.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Peter Laycock hit a beautiful drive off the 11th, Graham Brown proceeded to put the 2nd shot on the green & Sandy Laycock putted into the hole for a nice birdie; On the 9th hole Yvonne Wilson did a great drive, Des followed up with a good second shot, Elly Van Den Berg chipped nicely to the green and Jan Van Den Berg putted in for a nice par; all of the above displayed some great teamwork. The next highlight was hard to beat - Bev Way played with 3 men aged between 30/35 years & the team got 5 birdies.
In 2010 GOSFORD GOLF CLUB RETAINED THE STERLAND SHIELD FOR THE THIRD YEAR IN A ROW
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR PENNANTS PLAYERS THIS YEAR FOR A MIGHTY EFFORT. !!!!!
We may never have won the Pennants but that will be our challenge for 2011 and the Sterland Shield is still ours to display at our club.
