Our Results in the Gosford City Garden Competition - Thursday 19th September 2013

We ( Di Beechey, Anne Burgess & Jan Martin) attended the Presentation Night for the Gosford City 2013 Garden Competition at Erina which is a very prestigious event.  Our gardens were judged several weeks ago so we have been waiting in anticipation to see what the judges thought of our gardens.

We were delighted to have three mentions in the Commercial Gardens Competition where we compete against professional gardeners - some with large budgets and a lot of staff.

Our overall gardens were a finalist in the Best Commercial Garden Category where we compete against about 14 entrants.

The Ladies Garden at the 13th tee won a finalist in the Best Theme/Specialty Garden (Commercial).

The fenced garden at the 18th tee (not the newest garden) won a finalist in the Best Eco Friendly Garden (Commercial)

Our own Dawn Cook won two finalist awards for her residential garden. - Congratulations Dawn!

Our thanks go to our many supporters who help out with donations of either cash or plants which help us enormously in keeping our gardens looking their best.  Also our thanks go to our everyday helpers in F-Troop who chip in with the jobs that are too hard for us girls or work on the gardens in their own time and the Green Staff who will provide us with transporting mulch for the gardens etc.

My main thanks go to Di Beechey and Anne Burgess who shouldered the responsibility of the garden judging for 2 years in a row and do the hard yards all year helping me in the gardens constantly.

These are great results for us as we have won awards every year that we have entered the competition be it the main award or a finalist result.

YES!  WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
