Golf - Sunday 19th August 2012

We had a wonderful day for golf at Gosford Golf Club today.  The sun was shining, the wind was  minimal and the run was back on the course to give us all just that bit of extra yardage that has been lacking over all the wet months.

Our playing partners were Col & Lauren Matterson and we collectively had a good day with Lauren & I being beaten on a countback for the Ladies 2 Ball.  We missed a great photo opportunity today with my drive at the 12th.  My first attempt went to the left and rebounded from a tree at great speed towards the dam.  We could not tell if it went in the water or not so I hit a provisional drive that landed pin high on the green.  Unfortunately we found the original ball at the edge of the dam inside the pegs hanging on by a thread of grass.  I had to stand at the very edge of the dam in great danger of falling in & managed to strike the ball without falling ( much to every one's mirth ) and I scrambled a one pointer on the hole which was one of my highlights of the day.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford + 2 Ball Team Mixed Men & Ladies.

We had 64 starters with 3 visitors from Merewether & Terrigal.

We had a 12.00 pm shotgun start as the club was hosting the Regional Championships in the morning.
