F-Troop - Monday 20th August 2012

We had a huge day at F-Troop today with all fourteen volunteers working flat out on our major projects and keeping up with regular maintenance jobs.

We had Peter Martin, Martin Gallagher, Geoff Bridge, Des Wilson, Trevor Harrison, Ken Donald, Bruce White, Richard Casey, George Foster, Don Nicholls, Nathan Allan, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin.  It is worth mentioning that three of our volunteers working on the cart shed are from the RSL Golf Club (Sunday morning players) - Trevor Harrison, Don Nicholls and Nathan Allan who are donating their private time to the cart shed project which is greatly appreciated - certainly by us and hopefully by all of the golf club members in general who will benefit from this project.

Working on the cart shed we had Des Wilson, Peter Martin, Trevor Harrison, Ken Donald, Richard Casey, George Foster, Don Nicholls and Nathan Allan.  The boys have worked well and have the framework up and are ready to start on the roofing.

Working on the mulching of the gardens we had Martin Gallagher, Geoff Bridge (on tractor duty), Bruce White, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin. The gardens look refreshed and fantastic.

Anne Burgess was also busy on general maintenance duties cleaning up the car park, BBQ area, 1st and 10th tees and the wedding garden.  Di Beechey managed to get the gardens watered in the wedding area, help me lay the red bark features, clean up the 1st & 10th tee areas, clean up the 3rd ladies tee and poison weeds as well as the mulching duties. We also made a start on trimming the tibouchinas in the wedding garden.

In addition Martin & Bruce did some pick up of loose timber at the wedding garden area and 1st and 10th tees as well as the 1st green, also delivering some more firewood which will give us some more funding for our projects.  Many thanks to Martin for his dedication to the firewood sales which has enabled us to fund our projects and get the quality finish for the gardens that makes all the difference.

Morning tea was much appreciated as we had all worked hard on our projects. Chef John supplied us with some fruit pastries, mini muffins & biscuits - Thanks Chef John!

We (The F-Troop & Greens Staff) have received some very good/excellent compliments from Members and visitors to the club recently regarding the condition of the course and the quality of the gardens. This is great to hear as we are all putting in the hard yards to make this course the best on the Central Coast.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
