Golf - Wednesday 1st September 2010

The Event of the day was a Men's Single Stableford + 2 Ball Team.
The greens have been maintained this week & sand on the greens did not deter too many of our players with some outstanding scores coming in.
We had 192 starters with 11 visitors from Belconnen Magpies, Everglades, Toukley, Tuggerah Lakes & Wyong.

There were some amazing scores in today and I believe that there were 54 out of 192 starters who were 40 points or better. I wonder if that could be some sort of record. I note there would have been at least one with a score of 44 points who would have only won a ball.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Roger Williams scored 45 points with some excellent putting - his score being all the more impressive given Roger's breathing problems and
he coped extremely well out on the course; Roger's playing partners were Garry Montgomery, Colin Chantry & Peter Read (Everglades) & they also had some great highlights with Garry scoring 26 points on the front 9 and Peter scoring for the first time 43 points and for the first time had no wipes; Shaman Singh drove to the green on the 15th and was 6 metres past the pin, he is a cacky handed / cross handed player he tells me (but obviously effective). With all those massive scores I am sure there would have been heaps of highlights to report on today. Congratulations to all the good players who had a fantastic day on our beautiful village green today.
Once again, wishing Spencer Walklate & Tania Burt a very happy wedding day this coming Saturday.
