We welcomed a rain free day today for the second round of the Ladies 2010 Championships. We did have some wild winds at times and it was a very cool start to the day, however rain free conditions went down very well with our players today even though we had some very wet sticky spots on the fairways. Hopefully this wind will hold for a few days to help dry out those wet places and our course will be back to top condition.
My playing partners today were Lesley Gregory & Margaret Pratt & they were great company. We struggled at times in some of the wet patches but overall we had a lovely day.
The Event of the day was the second round of the 2010 Club Championships - Daily Single Stroke and we had 50 starters.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Di Thomlinson had birdies at the 17th & 18th and sank some great putts; Fay Bailey had a par on the 18th; Robyn Johnston played steady golf; Sheena Asken sank a monster putt on the 6th for a birdie; Lyn Bates had a birdie at the 6th; Felicity Mead had nice company & improved golf; Helen Stuart sank a long putt into the hole at the 2nd; Leonie Casey had a birdie at the 14th and won nearest the pin; Bev Adams had a birdie gobbler on the 15th; Robin Incoll had a birdie on the 15th & sank a good putt; Sharon Anderson had pars on the 14th & 15th; Pam Witt had a par on the 9th; Joyce Bosley had a gobbler at the 14th; Margaret Pratt's highlight was being on the blog with Jan; my highlights were parring the 14th & 15th, having a steady 45 strokes on the back 9 & not having any 3 putts (I am definitely a fair weather player).
Next Thursday, after the final round of the Championships, the Presentation will be held in the Sunset Room and finger food will be provided by the Ladies Committee.
Be sure to be watching 60 minutes this coming Sunday Night at 7.30 pm because Di & Damien Thomlinson will be interviewed by RAY MARTIN on 60 MINUTES.
