Golf - Sunday 14th February 2010 - Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day was a popular day for golf - pity about the weather. We had more nuisance rain than torrential rain & the early players escaped getting wet so it wasn't all that bad & some of our players had no trouble at all as you can see by the great scores. Our Club Director Sheena Asken presented all the lady players with a red rose for Valentine's Day which was a lovely gesture by the club officials and appreciated by all the ladies.
Our playing partners today were Wally & Fay Bailey & we had a fun time. The boys beat us for the Keno ticket on the day but Fay & I gave them a run for their money on the front nine. Peter played very well on the back 9 & Wally hit some great shots on the day - on one hole Wally scored a 4 pointer & Peter got a 3 pointer - what were we supposed to do about that! Peter & I were beaten on a countback for the 2 Ball Mixed Event trophy. I used to like Ross & Christine!!!!
The Event of the day was a 2 Ball Team + Single Stableford Mixed Men and Ladies.
We had 95 starters with 10 visitors from Asquith, Everglades, Mangrove Mountain, Mt Coolum, Strathfield & Tuggerah Lakes.
We also welcomed some new members to our Sunday Golf Events - Alvin & Jenny Clark and Steven & Annette Cross. Steven is a Member of long standing who plays in our Saturday Events. Annette is returning to golf after being a Gosford Junior in her earlier years.
