Golf - Thursday 13th August 2009

What a magic day for golf - where are all our players when the course is playing so well and the weather is beautiful? We need more Thursday players so it would be great to have more of our members playing that day.

My playing partners today were Yvonne Cumming and Sharon Anderson & we had mixed fortunes as par matches go. We had a great day - or in my case a great half a day sitting on Plus 4 at the half way mark. We had many highlights and laughs along the way.

I have taken some photos of our birdlife as they establish their romances around the course. I expect to bring you many photos of little ducklings before too long.

The Event of the day was a Ladies Single Par and we had 37 starters with visitors Maureen Johnson and Nola Hilbert from Terrigal and Lenore Brazenor from Hammersley - Perth.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Julie Hazzard had an Eagle on the 15th; Sheena Asken put her second shot on the 6th through the back of the green; Judy Verlander played a nice steady game for her square result; Yvonne Cumming kept her game nicely together to score a square result; my highlight was a nice gobbler into the hole for a plus on the 1st and having six plus scores on the first nine.
