F-Troop - Monday 25th July 2016

F-Troop morning tea - Peter Martin, Kevin O'Brien, Garry Trigg, Geoff Bridge, Don Nicholls,
John Hollebon, Steve Hogg, Trevor Harrison, Duncan Dyer, Paul Scholberg ( Terry Coyle, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess, Jan Martin)

Happy Birthday to Steve Hogg!😄👍

F-Troop ute's - vandalised sometime during the week damage done to both the ute's.

We had a chilly start to F-Troop at 7.00 am this morning made all the worse by finding that our F-Troop security gates, where we keep the work ute's, was broken into and damage was done to both of the vehicles. The low life's have been here again after breaking into the cart shed last week.

Fortunately Duncan Dyer had a contact - retired auto electrician John Sprague who came to our rescue and repaired the vehicles straight away.  Thank you so much John for being so efficient and coming so quickly to help us out.  The ute's are essential for our on course clean up work that we do every Monday.  Without them we are very restricted in how effective we can be with course maintenance.

On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O'Brien, Don Nicholls, John Hollebon, Steve Hogg, Terry Coyle, Peter Martin, Geoff Bridge, Garry Trigg, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess, Jan Martin.

Duncan, Trevor, Kevin, Geoff, Steve and Garry worked on clearing along the 2nd fairway fenceline as the course was very busy with vets players today.

Peter, Don and Terry worked on loose timber and rubbish pick up around the course using our small trailer.

John worked on the gardens around the 10th tee - trimming and cleaning out the gardens there.

Di and Anne (with the help of Judy Hughes) were kept busy all morning on BBQ duties supplying the Vets players with some great sausage sandwiches.

I worked at the 14th bush toilet areas, planted in some codyline plants donated by Don Nicholls, tidied the garden at the 6th tranquility garden and watered and fertilised the potted plants there, replanted some of the succulent plants that had blown out of the golf shoe garden at the 4th green, watered and fertilised the plants at the ladies 9th tee, fertilised and watered the potted mandevillia at the 9th green, picked up large branches and sticks at the 1st and 10th tee and the wedding garden area, started cleaning up the area along the fenceline of the wedding garden, poisoned the weeds in the wedding garden path, planted in some donated Clivias.

Being such a cold day we retired into the fairway lounge for morning tea to escape the chill.  We appreciated the large selection of goodies from Barto's Bakehouse. Thanks Barto!
We also celebrated Steve's birthday with a candle and a birthday song!

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
