F-Troop - Monday 19th August 2013

We had another perfect day to complete some of our projects.  There was a large group of social players on the course and the green staff needed the tractor for their 13th fairway maintenance program so we were somewhat restricted with our work.

We had eight volunteers - Trevor Harrison, Don Nicholls, Warren Gray, Peter Martin, Martin Gallagher, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin. A lot of our regulars are away on holidays or recovering from illness.

Trevor & Don did a great job of building garden edges at the 2nd green garden and a new garden at the 16th tee as well as helping us with the mulching.

Martin & Warren did rubbish pick up, trimmed the grasses at the 17th.

Di & Anne cleaned up the side entrance to the club, watered as many gardens as they could before the water was turned off for the maintenance of the 13th; they also helped me to complete the mulching and weeding of the two gardens at the 2nd green and watered there.

Peter was the jack of all trades organising the troops and acting as gofor.

Morning tea of walnut cake was very welcome - Thanks Chef John!

We received a donation of some more "Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow" plants grown by Bert Jordon - Thanks Bert.  These plants will go to the garden at the 6th.

After morning tea Peter & I picked up rubbish at the side entrance to the club and added some more soil to the new garden at the 16th so it is now ready for some Lavender Plants.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
