Golf - Sunday 10th March 2013

The course is drying out at last and we had some blue sky and sunshine together with a nice breeze to keep the day comfortable.  It was busy on the course today as we were sharing with the local clubs Pennant Games and the early morning Social players.

The Golf Event of the day was a 4 Person "Las Vegas" Ambrose.

We had 77 starters with one visitor.

RESULTS:

4 PERSON "LAS VEGAS" AMBROSE RESULTS:

WINNERS:  Suzanne Waugh, Walter Loschi, Kim Cardiff & Phil Watson - 61 points on a countback

RUNNERS UP:  Fraser Bates, Lyn Bates, Bruce Binns & Leanne Binns - 61 points

NEAREST THE PINS:

MEN'S 12TH:  Wally Robertson

LADIES 8TH:  Robin Incoll

BALLS WENT TO:  66 points (neat)

NO HANDICAPPING TODAY.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Team of Bates and Binns had five birdies 1st, 4th, 10th; 15th and 16th: Team of Bosley & Incoll nearly had an eagle at the 1st but settled on a birdie and had a gobbler putt on the 10th for a par; Brent Frewin, Anne Forrester, Arthur Haviland & Robin Brann had birdies at the 2nd and the 14th; Team of Davidson & Walklate had birdies at the 10th, 14th & 18th with Tania sinking a 40 foot putt at the 14th; Team of Trigg and Johnston had a birdie on the 18th, on the 3rd hole Doreen's drive was the nominated ball, on the second shot both Robyn & Doreen said that Doreen had hit a good shot and were looking for her ball when they realised that she could not have hit and her ball was still in her pocket; Ron Dekker hit a great drive to the 8th green and Elly Van Den Berg sank the putt for a birdie; Team of Robertson & Brown had a birdie on the 14th; Team of Foster & Dyer did not have any bad words; Team of Lorraine Bignall, Kevin O'Brien & Craig Ward had birdies at the 13th and the 7th; Team of Gray & Small had a birdie at the 14th with Warren's good drive and Kathy sinking the putt; Peter Martin had a great second shot to the 3rd green and repeated the same on the 4th; Arthur Collien hit a great drive on the 12th and we sank the putt for a birdie; Kay Frewin sank a lovely downhill putt on the 9th; and my brag for the day was sinking three birdie putts in a row -  a 40 foot putt on the 2nd; repeated a similar putt on the 3rd and then sank a gobbler putt on the 4th (Can't help good luck!)

CONGRATULATIONS GO TO:
