Thankfully the hot weather eased off today and we were able to enjoy our golf on the Village Green even though it did remain very humid at times.

Our playing partners today were Duncan & Rosalie Dyer and we tried very hard to get some highlights - the best of which were 3 pars in a row from Peter who came in 3rd place in the Men;s singles.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford for Men and Ladies + Team 2 best scores on each hole.

We had 66 starters

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Peter Martin scored a nice 37 points including parring the last 3 holes; Duncan Dyer enjoyed a nice drive off the 18th; Neville Walker had 3 x 3 pointers in a row and 3 pointers at the 8th and 17th giving him a nice 36 points; Jan Walker had a steady 36 points which included a birdie on the 6th; Tania Walklate had 3/4 on the 8th; Spencer Walklate had 3/4 birdie on the 15th; Terry Coyle's highlight was a 4X at the 19th hole; George Foster played some good pars and beat the girls for the Keno Ticket, Vicki Foster enjoyed 18 points on the last 9, Wally Robertson hit his drive to the water at the 13th, his 2nd shot went backwards over his head and he played on to score a point, Ray Buttsworth had a par on the 16th; Carolyn Buttsworth parred the 16th and 17th and included five 3 pointers in her score of 35 points, Kath Small had a great score of 37 points with 3 wipes, David Small played steady golf for 36 points, Karen Askens chipped into the hole on the 17th, Kevin O'Brien scored a great birdie on the 12th hole after he sank a huge putt from the front of the green, Lorraine Bignall enjoyed a 5/3 on the 18th, Eddie Rogers had two birdies, Annie Brink had her first game back after an enforced spell from golf and scored 17 on the front and 17 on the back for 34 points - nice effort Annie, my highlight was sinking a 20 foot putt on the 17th for 6/2 and finishing with the same ball I started with.
