HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Brett Margin had birdies on the 1st and the 16th, had 21 points on the back 9 and left his ball in a tree on the 9th; Lyn Cruickshanks had 5/4 on the 10th, 4/3 on the 15th, 3/3 on the 8th; Leonie Margin had her best score ever on the back 9; Clyde Cruickshanks had a nice breakfast; Garry Trigg hit the wrong ball on the 1st, then hit into the hedge at the 2nd and after that it was all downhill; Doreen Trigg had a birdie on the 14th; Stephen Turner had 9 points after the first three holes; George Foster had a birdie on the 10th, the girls won the Keno ticket; Di Beechey had 6/3 on the 18th and parred the 1st and 2nd; Ron Puiatti had a nice back 9; Col Matterson had birdies at the 8th and the 15th; James Smith hit his best shot ever out of the bunker on the 3rd and made birdie; Rosalie Dyer had a birdie 2/4 on the 12th; Jan Walker had a birdie 2/4 on the 14th, 3/4 on the 15th and had a nice 41 points; Tania Walklate was an improved player; Dick Bosley had a 4 pointer on the 14th and scored 41 points; Joyce Bosley played a steady game; David Small had a birdie on the 8th; Ross Drakeford had a birdie on the 10th; Chris Drakeford had a steady game; Julie Hazard had 2/4 on the 8th, 5/4 on the 10th; John Hazard had 4 pointers on the 15th and 16th; Bert Brink had a gobbler birdie on the 15th; Alice Diamond had birdies on the  6th and 15th along with good pars including 4/4 at the 13th and great putting; it was also reported to me by an unnamed source that a shot went into the bunker at the 16th hole landing in the top edge of the bunker which caused and avalanche of sand to fall over the top of the ball - a sand search mission had to be carried out to find the ball; my highlight was playing with Alice Diamond and bringing her home with a great score.
