The boys playing with their new tool - the firewood splitter

We had a great day for F-Troop today with some good projects dealt with.

On hand were Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O'Brien, Rob Benson, Geoff Bridge, Terry Coyle, John Hollebon, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin.

The projects we made inroads on were checking roller door on the cart shed, removing a large branch that had fallen over the Wedding Garden from a wind damaged pine tree, tidying up other wind damaged trees, splitting more firewood for next year's wood sales, maintaining the wood splitter, collection of loose timber and rubbish from around the course - and there was plenty of that after last weekends high winds, maintaining the large hedges at the front of the clubhouse, cleaning up the wind damaged native grevilleas at the 6th native garden and commencing the replacement of the old border edge boards, tidying up the BBQ gardens and planting in some  miniature white agapanthus (donated by Wally and Fay Bailey), planted in some Point Settias at the 18th garden, planting out some donated Nandinas at the 1st tee and the 17th dog leg garden, moving the garden setting from the putting green area to the front of the clubhouse, tidying up in front of the putting green steps, tidying up the Wedding Garden after the large pine branch had fallen over the plants, cleaned the 14th Bush Toilets, planted in some succulent plants in the 14th green space that were rescued from the Wedding Garden, watered the pots at the 6th tranquility garden, sprayed the plants for aphids and tidied the garden, did some more weeding and cleaning up if the 17th dog leg garden, watered the Nandina garden at the 1st tee and raked up rubbish at the back of the garden.

Morning tea was much appreciated after a hard mornings work.  Thank you Barto!

YES!  WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
