Golf - Sunday 8th November 2015

Pauline Norman - Winner of the Ladies Singles

With Andy and Jann Henebury at the 1st Tee.

Once again we were lucky with the weather having the rain hold off until after golf.  The fairways were a bit wet in places but the greens were good. We were short on players today mainly because there were big events at other courses that attracted a lot of our regulars.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford for Men and Ladies.

We had 51 starters with 8 visitors from Callala RSL Country Club, Castle Hill, Muree and Waratah.

RESULTS:

MEN'S SINGLES RESULTS:

WINNER: Trent Gilmore - 39 points

RUNNER UP: Keith Potter - 38 points

WOMEN'S SINGLES RESULTS:

WINNER: Pauline Norman - 37 points

RUNNER UP: Rhonda Robertson - 34 points

NEAREST THE PINS:

MEN'S 12TH: Not won

LADIES 8TH: Not won

BALLS WENT TO:

MEN: 34 points (neat)

LADIES: 32 points (neat)

DSR MEN: 70

DSR LADIES: 74

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Pauline Norman hit a beautiful chip into the hole from 96 metres on the 4th hole for 3/5 birdie and had 3/4 on the 8th; Jann Henebury had good 3 pointers at the 5th, 7th, 8th and 9th holes; Andy Henebury nearly sconned himself with his second shot on the 2nd fairway rebounding off a tree and had a great par on the 18th; Fran James had 3/4 on the 14th; Michael Norman had 4/4 on the 3rd and 4/4 on the 17th; Graham Brown did not loose the plot; Rae Brown had no arguments with Graham all day; Owen James hit in a lovely 100 metre chip shot close to the pin on the 11th: Robbie Whyte hit a shank on the 15th (close to an air swing say witnesses) and put it in the water. I am not sure if it was the water or the air that turned blue but apparently it was karma for stealing his opponents sureshot! My highlight was 4/4 on the 16th and finishing with the same ball I started with.
