We were blessed with fine weather during golfing hours today and it was good to see the course drying out a bit.  That was until tonight's showers which will not help.

Our playing partners were Brent Frewin and Anne Forrester and they were great company. The boys played respectable golf and easily won the keno ticket.  We did have some good highlights with some good 3 pointers from Brent and Peter with my highlight a 4 pointer at the 8th.

The Golf Event of the day was  Single Stableford + 2 Ball Team Mixed Men and Ladies.

We had 70 starters

MEN: Steve Cross and Doug Incoll - 50 points

MIXED: Steve Cross and Annette Cross - 46 points

LADIES: Rosalie Dyer and Sheena Asken - 44 points on a countback

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Sheena Asken had a birdie at the 15th; group of Asken and Dyer - the girls beat the boys for the Keni ticket; Wally Robertson had a 4 pointer at the 17th; Ron Puiatti had a birdie on the 10th and won nearest the pin at the 12th; Lynn Puiatti was happy to be back at golf; Kay Baillie had 4/4 at the 9th and won nearest the pin at the 8th; Garry Baillie had 4/4 at the 1st; Warren Gray played with his harem of Mary Bromwich, Cheryl Davison and Robin Brann; Cheryl Davison had a 4 pointer on the 1st; Dick Bosley had four 3 pointers in a row; Joyce Bosley and Elly Van Den Berg both had 4 pointers at the 8th; Brent Frewin had a nice 35 points; Anne Forrester sank

a beautiful long putt at the 13th; Peter Martin had three 3 pointers in a row; Doug Incoll and Steven Cross both peaked to early for the team series, Steven had 4/4 on the 10th and Doug had 4/4 on the 15th: Ray Buttsworth chipped in at the 12th; Tania Walklate had 4 pointer on the 8th and got out of the bunker at the 18th on her first attempt; Lorraine Bignall played a steady game; Kevin O'Brien and Spencer Walklate both played a steady game; Jan Walker had 3 pointers at the 17th and 18th;,Doreen Trigg had 3/4 on the 12th; Pauline Nirman had a nice 39 points and a chip in for a birdie on the 6th; Michael Norman had 4/4 on the 3rd and 5/4 on the 18th; Arthur Collien had 4/3 on the 9th and 4/3 on the 16th; Robin Incoll had a birdie 2/4 at the 14th that was cms off being a hole in one; Peter Laybutt scored a nice 39 points; on the 12th hole Peter Laybutt had 3/3, Sandy Laybutt had 3/3 and Lyn Cruickshanks had 3/4; Clyde Cruickshank provided the days entertainment by losing control of his battery buggy at the 12th - the buggy headed for the dam with Clyde and Sandy in hot pursuit, unfortunately too late to save the buggy, bag, set of Ping Clubs, Wallet; Towel, Bulldog Hat and telephone - all of which were extracted from the dam with a 3 iron by Clyde and Steven; Owen James scored a nice 37 points: my highlight was playing with Brent and Anne and scoring 3/4 at the 8th.
