We had some mixed weather on the village green today - starting off blue skies and warm sunshine, reducing to cloudy, with cold winds in the afternoon.  Our playing partners were Neville and Jan Walker and we had a good day with some good highlights the best of which came from Jan Walker who finished with a very respectable 36 points and was our champion of the day who was responsible for the girls beating the boys for the Keno Ticket!

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford Mixed & Men + Team 1 x 2 x 3.

We had 51 starters with 1 visitor from Howlong (Ross Drakeford)

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Neville Walker had pars on the 16th and the 10th; Jan Walker had pars on the 12th and the 15th; Clyde Cruickshanks had a nice par into the wind at the 11th; Terry Coyle scored to his handicap despite the fact that the sole of his shoe was flapping for most of the match causing him to go A over T at one stage; Dick Bosley had 37 points including 4 pointers at the 1st and the 15th; Joyce Bosley had some good 3 pointers; Wally Bailey played well; Craig Ward had a nice 37 points, but no birdies; Anne Forrester birdied the 6th; Brent Frewin birdied the 17th; Tania Walklate had 4 pointer at the 12th; Spencer Walklate had 4/4 at the 3rd; Kath Small had a great drive at the 8th winning nearest the pin and had chip in at the 9th; Robin Incoll had a nice  par 4/3 at the 16th and a 5/3 at the 6th; Julie Hazzard had a nice drive to the 8th green scoring 3/3; Pauline Norman had a 3/4 on the 8th; Michael Norman had 5/4 on the 18th; John and Julie Hazzard are recovering from minding 5 grand children under 5 during the school holidays; Christine Drakeford chipped in out of the bunker on the 13th and sank a 12 foot putt on the 9th for 4/4; Carolyn Buttsworth sank a long putt on the 7th; Cheryl Davison had a birdie on the 14th; Mary Bromwich managed to rescue her golf ball from a renegade crow at the 6th, the crow immediately picked up Warren's ball after reliquishing Mary's. Kay Frewin had 5/4 on the 17th; Lorraine Bignall had 19 points on the turn; my highlights were finishing with the same ball I started with (3 matches now out of that ball) and enjoying the company of Neville and Jan.

Good luck to our Pennants players for tomorrow  - I understand that the super Seniors are playing at Charlestown against Wyong and if successful will go onto the finals; Gosford B Grade Ladies Pennant side is playing at Wyong.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OUR PENNANTS PLAYERS!
