Golf - Sunday 26th January 2014 - Australia Day

We had a lovely day for Golf today - the cloud cover in the morning made it very pleasant to be out on the course.  Our playing partners were Wally & Rhonda Robertson and we had a good day on the course with some good highlights.  Peter was our star player today but Wally's drive on the 1st was the big highlight leaving Wally a chip and a putt and he narrowly missed his birdie. The boys beat the girls for the Keno ticket.

We have a new resident chook on the course (photo attached) who had been sighted around the course for the last few days.  We suspect that this "chook" could be an escapee from the school farm.  My thanks to Sheena Asken for the attached photo of the chook which we have dubbed "Sheena" in honour of Sheena's birdie on the 2nd today.

The Golf Event of the day was a Medley Teams Event - Best 2 Scores + Single Stableford for Men and Ladies.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Wally Robertson had a superb drive off the 1st tee and a great long putt on the 14th; Peter Martin had a lot of 3 pointers; Rhonda Robertson on the 18th got into strife with her drive almost out of bounds, the second shot was out of bounds on top of the Green keepers shed until it rebounded off the roof with an A Grade bounce out onto the fairway after which Rhonda promptly hit it into a tree (not happy Jan) and it is too sad to tell the rest; Sheena Asken had birdies on the 2nd and the 18th; Duncan Dyer had  a 2/4 on the 14th; Ron Puiatti had birdies on the 4th and the 14th; Vicki Foster did not get wet; Robin Incoll chipped in on the 6th for 5/3; Nancye Incoll was on the 17th for 2; Arthur Haviland & Brent Frewin beat the girls for the Keno ticket; Dick Bosley parred the 16th; Neville Walker had 5 pars; Wendy Stapleton had birdies on the 14th and the 18th; Rosalie Dyer parred the 15th and the 17th; David Small birdied the 18th; my highlights were that I drove to the green on the 12th and 14th, was out of the bunker at the 10th for one and hit a great shot through two trees to the green at the 16th.
