F-Troop - Monday 6th January 2014

We had a good sunny day for F-Troop with not too many social players on the course to restrict our use.

We had eleven volunteers and managed to cover a lot of good projects.  We had Trevor Harrison, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Rob Benson, Warren Gray, Geoff Bridge, Nigel Asken, Zorro Sorridimi, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin.

Trevor, Don, Geoff & Zorro did a great job of cleaning our the gutters at the back of the Clubhouse removing four loads of rubbish from the area.

Warren & Rob were on rubbish pick up and did a good job of picking up loose timber off the course and garden rubbish.

Peter set up the watering system at the Ladies 13th Garden  and was general support for the team.

Di & Anne cleaned up the car park and back of the clubhouse, watered the gardens there, cleaned up the BBQ garden, collected some furniture for the Ladies Associates Room from Bunnings with assistance from Don Nicholls, cleaned up in the Ladies Locker Room, watered the plants at Camellia Way & planted in a new native at the 10th tee garden.

My time was spread over cleaning up at the Bush Toilets and watering the plants there, watering at the Ladies 13th Garden & tidying up there, watering the potted plants at the wedding gardens and around, checked the water feature at the 1st, watered the garden at the 10th, hedged part of the hedges at the putting green and weeded there.

Morning Tea of Giant Muffins was welcomed by our hard working troopers - Thanks Chef John!

Next week we will hopefully get some more workers back from holidays etc.  Jobs like cleaning out the dams of rubbish weed is heavy work - but it does make a huge difference to our water supply - some strong younger volunteers with some spare time to help out would be greatly appreciated.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
