Golf - Sunday 10th July 2011

















Today was a fine sunny day but with a biting cold wind - the bonus from the wind is that the course is drying out well.

The Golf Event of the day was a 2 Ball Aggregate + Single Stableford Mixed Men and Ladies.

We had 101 starters with 13 visitors from Everglades, Magenta Shores, Riverside Oaks, Shelly Beach, Terrigal, The Vintage & Toukley,

TEAM AGGREGATE RESULTS:

MEN'S: Laurie Jones (Everglades) & John Rowley (Everglades) - 77 points

MIXED:  Doug Incoll and Robin Incoll - 72 points

WOMEN'S:  Maree Gledhill and Maria McGann (Riverside Oaks) - 72 points

MEN'S SINGLES RESULTS:

WINNER:  Wally Johnston - 42 points on a countback

RUNNER UP:  Peter Laybutt - 42 points

3RD:  Jon Thurlby - 41 points on a countback

WOMEN'S SINGLES RESULTS:

WINNER:  Robin Incoll - 38 points

RUNNER UP:  Maree Gledhill - 37 points

3RD:  Lyn Douglas - 36 points on a countback

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me:  George Foster & Nigel Asken beat the girls for the keno ticket (that's two weeks in a row - first time in living memory); Sheena Asken had a birdie on the 1st; Vicki Foster had a birdie on the 14th and as well scored a 3/5; Kerry Williams played a great chip shot onto the 1st; Elly Van Den Berg had a 4 pointer on the 14th; Mark Stimpson had a birdie on the 1st (social play); Lauren Matterson scored a nice 18 points on the front 9; Spencer Walklate scored birdies on the 5th and the 14th; Yvonne Wilson had a gobbler on the 11th; Des Wilson putted in a gobbler on the 18th for a par and squared the keno ticket with the girls who were two up at the 17th; Garry Trigg had a birdie on the 1st; Warren Gray scored a nice 38 points; Lynn Puiatti & Norma Cubis thrashed the boys for the keno ticket on the last two holes; Kerry Cubis had a birdie on the 14th; Norma Cubis had 3 pointers at the 15th, 16th and 17th; Lyn Puiatti had 3 pointers at the 1st, 2nd & 3rd; Rae Brown had a good gobbler putt on the 7th; Robin Incoll sank two long putts on the 8th and the 13th for pars; Rae Brown & Robin Incoll beat the boys for the keno ticket.

 Birthday celebrations this week for Vicki Foster, Kerry Cubis and Lauren Matterson (photos attached).

John Hazzard is celebrating the birth of his second granddaughter - Sophie Maree making 14 grandchildren for John & Julie  (8 boys and 6 girls).

Not to be outdone - I have attached photos taken today of our two delightful grandchildren to keep you up to date.
