Golf - Sunday 2nd January 2011






















My withdrawal symptoms are reducing now that we are back in daily routine at the Golf Course. The Silly Season is behind us, we have said goodbye to 2010 and are into 2011 with great gusto and today have got in some great scores to prove it!. Just one example is 45 points from Vicky Morris who scored 28 points on the front nine holes alone and Keith Potter who scored 48 points.
Our partners today were Des & Yvonne Wilson & we had a good day out on the course even though the boys did soundly beat us for the Keno ticket. We had a New Year's Eve Keno ticket boy's Vs the girls from the groups that celebrated at the Cafe Sicilian and once again the boys won with Wally Bailey contributing 40 points, Col Kelly 39 points, Des Wilson 38 points and our best scores from the girls were Kay Frewin 42 points and Yvonne Wilson 36 points.
The Event of the day was a 2 Ball Team + Single Stableford Mixed Men & Ladies.
We had 88 starters with one visitor from Shelley Beach.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: George Foster had a birdie on the 4th and chipped in on the 9th and won Peter Martin's $1, George & Ron Puiatti beat the girls for the keno ticket; Lynn Puiatti parred the 4th for 4/4; Lyn Cruickshanks had five 3 pointers in a row and scored 40 points; Sandra Coyle scored a 4 pointer on the 9th; Jan & Neville Walker both scored 4/4 on the 3rd; Doreen Trigg scored two 4 pointers; Sheena Asken almost had a Eagle on the 16th and had to settle on a birdie; Clyde Cruickshanks had a birdie on the 10th; Kerry Cubis had a birdie on the 18th; Kevin O'Brien had a birdie on the 4th; Doug Incoll's highlight was playing with Wally Johnston; Wally Bailey had three 4 pointers and scored 40 points; Wayne Tomkinson sank two very long putts and birdied the 10th and the 18th; Bev Way's highlight was being back to play at Gosford; Vicky Morris scored 28 points on the front 9 parring the 1st, 3rd and the 4th; Jan Van Den Berg had 4 pointers at the 2nd and the 16th; Elly Van Den Berg had a birdie on the 8th and won nearest the pin; Michael Norman tee'd off the 18th landing on the 11th fairway and still scored 5/3 on the hole; Kay Frewin played a nice steady game; Col Kelly had a birdie on the 10th; Alice Diamond parred the 12th; Rosalie Dyer parred three of the four par 3's; Peter Martin had a birdie on the 16th; Yvonne Wilson had 5/4 on the 2nd; Des Wilson had a par on the 4th without touching the fairway; my highlight was parring the 8th and winning the hole for the girls.
