F-Troop - Monday 10th January 2011

We had a nice overcast day for our F-Troop work - if a little humid. We managed to get most of our allocated tasks done before the afternoon showers set in.
We had 16 starters this morning which was fantastic and we were very happy to welcome Mark Sorridimi (Zorro) to our F-Troop workforce. It is great to see an interest coming from our younger members. Your help is much appreciated Zorro!
Our workers today were Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Martin Gallagher, Kerry Cubis, Mark Sorridimi, Bruce White, Richard Casey, George Foster, Peter Martin, Warren Gray, Des Wilson, Di Beechey, Georgina Lamb, Jan Walker & Anne Burgess.
Today we had working on the tree trimming on the 1st fairway - Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Martin Gallagher, Kerry Cubis, Mark Sorridimi and Bruce White. They completed the right hand side of the fairway which looks much better with the low lying branches off.
The seven spare circular function tables required painting - Peter Martin, George Foster and Richard Casey got them taken care of in short time. The tables look very good and will earn them a gold star from Wendy & Krystal.
Richard Casey did some repair work with the green painted furniture between the second coat of paint on the tables. Peter Martin & George Foster took care of some plumbing problems in the garden at the 18th between the second coat of paint on the tables.
Warren Gray & Des Wilson took care of rubbish pickup around the course & also did a great job at the ladies 3rd tee garden steps leaving it all in an immaculate state.
Anne Burgess worked at the BBQ garden and also at the gardens behind the 10th green.
Jan Walker put in some hard yards at the entrance path to the tees and the front of the pro shop area.
Di Beechey and Georgina Lamb did a good clean up of the pathway to the Pro Shop including cleaning down the outside furniture.
Di Beechey helped me with the clean up of the 3rd Ladies tee, the 5th tee & surrounds, weeding of the small garden at the 2nd green, weeding the shaded garden at the Ladies 2nd tee and the garden at the men's 2nd tee. Georgina joined us at the 2nd tee & helped with the clean up in that area. These areas now look very tidy & we did as much as we could before the showers set in.
Morning tea this morning was some beautiful Ham & Cheese croissants warm from the oven. Thanks Chef John! We certainly made short work of them. Yum!
It is great to have so many helpers turn up every week. We can make short work of the chores if we have many hands to help.
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
