Clearwater New Zealand - February 2009

Clearwater Golf Resort at Christchurch NZ was the first golf game of our tour. It was a cold overcast and showery day but we did get in our 18 holes without getting too wet.
The course was being prepared for the NZ PGA Championships which was to be held the following week. We could not resist the urge to stand on the scoreboard & advertising signs.
The Pharkawie tribe had their first experience at playing out of the baharrested grass & I did overhear some mumblings & groans during the course of the match - some of them mine.
I think their trademark mumble of "werrdapharkawie" could have originated here.
I would like to play this course again in better weather, but at least it was not actually full on rain & fog as we experienced at Terrace Downs the following day.
Typical of NZ weather - Christchurch cleared up to fine and sunny day on the day we flew out to Queenstown. The following week it was blue skies and sunshine in Christchurch so it is just pot luck to get good weather on golf days.
