We had brilliant weather for golf today - a  great Autumn so far.

Our playing partners were Neville and Jan Walker who were great company. Neville and Jan provided the highlights with Jan scoring a beautiful birdie at the 11th and Neville with a sensational birdie at the 14th. Peter broke down half way with his back muscle injury not making the distance. 

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford for Men and Ladies.

RESULTS:

We had 70 starters with 5 visitors from Merewether, The Ridge, Hunter Valley, Kooindah Waters and Magenta Shores.

WINNER: Graeme Elliott - 41 points

RUNNER UP: Shane White - 40 points on a countback

3RD: Phillip Blacklaw - 40 points

WOMENS SINGLES RESULTS:

WINNER: Rosalie Dyer - 38 points

RUNNER UP: Alice Diamond  - 37 points

NEAREST THE PINS:

5TH HOLE: Sandra Coyle - 208 cms

5TH HOLE: Craig Sharp - 205 cms

12TH HOLE: Clyde Cruickshanks - 172 cms

12TH HOLE: Rhonda Robertson - 431 cms

MEN: 35 points on a countback

LADIES: 34 points on a countback

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Jan Walker had a nice birdie at the 11th with a great shot to the green; Neville Walker had 4 x 3 pointers and a birdie at the 14th after a good drive pin high; Kaz Coventry had a birdie on the 16th and a good chip in on the 11th; John Hazzard had a gobbler at the 4th; Clyde Cruickshanks had a birdie at the 12th and won nearest the pin; Mark Stimpson had a birdie on the 8th; Alice Diamond had a birdie at the 14th; Rosalie Dyer and Sheena Asken beat the boys for the Keno Ticket; Rosalie Dyer won the Ladies singles playing good golf with 5 x 3 pointers; Grant Williams and Don Bush won the Keno ticket from the Ladies; Kevin O’Brien had some good pars; Sandra Coyle had no wipes and won nearest the pin on the 5th; Karen Askins parred the 16th 4/4; my highlight was enjoying good company, good weather and pity about the golf.

CONGRATULATIONS TO JOHN AND JULIE HAZZARD for the safe arrival of their 4th Great Grandson - Sonny George Johnston ( Son to Alex Johnston - Rabbitohs winger and fullback - John and Julie’s grandson)
