HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Mark Stimpson had a chip into the 15th hole from the edge of the dam; Alice Diamond had two nice pars and hit a sandy at the 5th to hit the flagstick and went on to score a 3 pointer; Steve Robinson hit two nice sandys; Georgina Lamb sank a long putt at the 5th for 4 points; John Slight’s highlight was finishing; Paul Smith hit Eddie Rogers bag without calling a warning and was followed by Craig Ward tried to do the same, Robbie Whyte and Eddie Rogers won the skins - their group wants to know the secret of growing a moustache like Kevin O’Brien as they are all jealous; Rhonda Robertson played steady golf for her nice 35 points and the girls won the Keno Ticket; Wally Robertson scrambled into the 30’s; Owen James had a good back 9; Rosalie Dyer and Vicki Foster won the Keno ticket from the boys; George had his best score after gaining a new hip; Duncan Dyer had a good front 9; Kerry Williams had 3 x 4 pointers; Lyn Cruickshanks had 2 x 3 pointers; Neville Walker had 2 x 3 pointers; Clyde Cruickshanks had 9 pars; Gay Bryant has 4/5 at the 11th and scored a winning score of 42 points; Peter Clare has 39 points; Julie Hazzard played steady good; John Hazzard enjoyed good company; Anne Burke scored a nice 35 points even after losing control of her buggy at the 9th tee and had to chase it over the second fairway to the farm (unfortunately no video footage of this event); Bruce Binns had 4/4 at the 18th; Russell Willings had a nice chip out from near the water on the 3rd; Melanie Forster had a lovely 40 points and was an improved player from last week; my highlights were being an improved player on the back 9 and contributing a 4 pointer and a couple of 3 pointers to the team score and also finishing with the same ball I started with and as well avoided all bunkers today.
