Mark Stimpson
Winner of the Men’s Singles

At long last we can have a social event to celebrate
our good golfers today at the Gosford Hotel
Peter Martin, Garry Baillie, Kay Baillie, Ray Buttsworth, Carolyn Buttsworth, Alice Diamond, Mark Stimpson, Jan Walker and Neville Walker

After a lot of rain in the last few days and overnight the course was left very wet for today’s play. Thankfully the sun came out so it was a pleasant day for our players albeit wet underfoot.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Par + 2 Ball Team.

We had 76 starters with 4 visitors from Penrith, Everglades and Dunheved.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Mark Stimpson was the champion of the day - playing to his age which was worth much celebration today - his highlights were a chip in at the 15th, sank a 35 metre putt at the 14th, parred after an impossible shot at the 17th, birdied the 10th and the 5th and had 23 putts for the day - not bad for an old codger - Mark thanks his playing partners for their inspiration; Alice Diamond had a good back 9 and twice scored for a plus when Mark failed; Carolyn Buttsworth’ s highlights was having her first score for a par on the 5th; Neville Walker had a steady game, Jan Walker seems to remember having a good shot. We did not play today due to the state of the course but will be back next week for an opportunity to gather some highlights.
