We had a lovely cool day for our golf on the Village Green today - just a few light sprinkles of rain in the afternoon to tease us into thinking we were going to get some decent rain.

Our playing partners were Wally and Rhonda Robertson who were fantastic company even though our golf was somewhat wanting in parts - Rhonda was our super star who kept us on a steady keel - unfortunately the boys beat the girls for the Keno Ticket which was a battle to the 17th.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Par for Men and Ladies + 2 Ball Team

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Rhonda Robertson played a very steady game turning at square; Wally Robertson had 4 plus’s on the back 9 however at the 13th Hole Wally drove to the left - his drive heading for the 13th dam, the ball hit the stump of the pine tree on the tee (which Rhonda and I had been standing behind for protection) the ball deflected to a safe position on the tee albeit behind the Ladies Tee (costWally a shout); Peter Martin squared the back 9; RosalieDyer excelled with a great plus 4 score; Suzanne Waugh played a nice game for plus 2; Phillip Wilson had a birdie; Col Matterson had birdies at the 8th and 15th; Duncan Dyer and Col Matterson beat the girls for the Keno Ticket with Duncan sinking a 30 footer on the 18th; Clyde Cruickshanks had a top day - playing to his age with a72 - he scored Plus 6 which included birdies on the 8th, 15th and 18th; Brent Frewin had birdies on the 2nd and the 15th; Anne Forrester parred the 1st; TerryCoyle had a birdie on the 10th; Sandra Coyle was Plus 1 on the turn; Sheena Asken had 3 Plus’s in a row 15/16/17, scored Plus 2 which included a birdie at the 15th; Anne Burke played with a new driver after discovering her old driver had been broken for some time and was an improved player from Tuesday; Craig Ward, Paul Scholberg, Eddie Rogers and Robbie Whyte played together today - all scored gobblers, Paul and Robbie won the skins, Paul had a birdie on the 14th, Eddie had a birdie on the 15th! Robbie enjoyed company in the cart with Craig; John Hazzard had Plus 2 and enjoyed the walk on the Village Green; Julie Hazzard enjoyed the company; LorraineBignall had gobblers on the 8th and the 17th and the girls beat the boys for the Keno Ticket Ticket; Kevin O’Brien had a birdie on the 11th; my highlights being a consistent player and enjoying good company.
