This is just some of John and Julie Hazzard's grandchildren enjoying some quality time over Christmas!

We had a very hot day to contend with today - thankfully there was some breeze to keep the temperature down but we were busy looking for shady spots to stand in. It was one of the few days we did not mind having some handy shade trees.

Our playing partners were Duncan and Rosalie Dyer and we had some good highlights throughout the day.  The boys beat the girls for the Keno ticket after the girls being one up at the halfway. Rosalie was our champion today, being pipped on a runner up place on a count back.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Event for Men and Ladies.

We had 56 starters with one visitor from Randwick.

MEN'S SINGLES RESULTS:

WINNER: Brent Frewin - 42 points on a count back

RUNNER UP: Bill Stafford - 42 points

WOMEN'S SINGLES RESULTS:

RUNNER UP:  Robin Incoll - 34 points on a count back

LADIES 8TH: Not won

BALLS WENT TO:

LADIES: 32 points (neat)

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Garry Baillie was on the 15th green for 2 and sank a long putt for a birdie; Kevin O'Brien was on the 5th green for 1 and sank a downhill putt for a birdie; Col Kelly had two birdies - 4/4 on the 10th and a birdie on the 7th; Gail Williams highlight was riding in the cart with Col Kelly; Elly Van Den Berg had a 4 pointer on the 8th; Ian Hartley hit his drive on the 4th onto the 3rd fairway where he found a lady golfer playing on the 3rd fairway standing near his ball, asking him "where he would like her" (to stand) which left Ian lost for words' Ian also had a 4 pointer at the 3rd (can anyone believe that Ian was lost for words?); Brent Frewin played a lovely game scoring 42 points which included three birdies 10/11/4th; Spencer Walklate scored a nice 38 points; my highlight was scoring a birdie on the 5th hole - after a rather awful drive left almost in the creek followed by a great 9 iron chip into the hole.
