Golf - Tuesday 8th July 2014









We had a magic day for golf today - blue sky and sunshine and plenty of run on the course.

My playing partners were Rhonda Robertson and Kay Baillie and for the last five holes Anne Forrester & Lyn Bates.  We had a fun day on the course with some of us having more fun than others in the sand, water and trees.

The Golf Event of the day was a Ladies Single Stableford + Vets + CCWGA Charity Day Qualifying + 5th Round of the CCWGA Brooch.

We had 57 starters.

RESULTS:

DIVISION 1 - 0 TO 22:

WINNER:  Marianne Lanham - 39 points

RUNNER UP:  Glennis English - 37 points

DIVISION 2 - 23 TO 32:

WINNER:  Yvonne Cumming - 41 points

RUNNER UP:  Kath Payn - 37 points

DIVISION 3 - 33 TO 45:

WINNER:  Sandra Innes - 37 points

RUNNER UP:  Beulah Cant - 36 points

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me:  Kathy Small scrambled well; Anne Forrester parred the 17th; Marianne Lanham had a birdie on the 6th; Yvonne Cumming got a lot of 3 pointers and putted well; Doon Delaney's buggy was almost in the dam at the 15th after Doon had not turned it off properly; Sandra Innes putted well; Dawn Tromp parred the 2nd; Kath Payn was inspired by Robyn Johnston and Fay Bailey; Di Thomlinson had a birdie (almost an eagle - see above photo) at the 15th; Robyn Krahe had a birdie at the 15th (not to be outdone by Dianne); Alison Guthrie had a gobbler at the 15th; Glennis English scored a nice 37 points beating her playing partner Chris Shaw by one point; Lynn Puiatti had a gobbler at the 16th; Leanne Binns had a birdie at the 6th; Robin Incoll had a good finish with 34 points; Elly Van Den Berg got nearest the pin on the 14th; Eileen Major played all the right fairways today and enjoyed good company with Faye Levenspiel and Sandy Laybutt; my highlight was all the good company I had today.
