Golf - Tuesday 6th May 2014 - Ladies Open Day

What a wonderful day of golf we had at Gosford today. Blue Sky and Sunshine to order and great company made for a very enjoyable day.  Thanks and congratulations to our Ladies Committee as we reaped the rewards of their hard work.

My playing partners today were Sheila Williams, Christine Drakefiord & Jan Walker and we had a great day in spite of the golf score.  We enjoyed our day on the village green and the company of all of our visitors and members.  We were struggling for a highlight when our cart ran out of battery on the 6th hole which disrupted our game while we waited for another replacement cart, however we soldiered on enjoying a gobbler from Sheila at the 17th and a nearest the pin from me at the 8th and then winning a raffle prize after golf so it was not all bad.

The Golf Event of the day was the Gosford Ladies Open Day Team Stableford 1 X 2 X 3 Nett and Scratch proudly sponsored by HARRIS AND ADAMS SMASH REPAIRS.

We had nearly 140 starters including visitors from other clubs stretching from the Sydney Area, Central Coast Area and Newcastle Area.

I have one funny story to tell - I shared a cart with Sheila Williams today and while waiting on a tee at the 17th we discussed the merits of Mediums, clairvoyants etc.  Sheila was an enthusiastic follower.  Later along the fairway Sheila was astonished to hear a voice coming from seemingly nowhere (not realising that I was wearing my talking GPS system on my hat).  She looked at me with wide eyes saying "Did you hear a voice speaking"
We were laughing so hard we could hardly hit the ball for the rest of the hole.

My thanks to Kathy Small for some of the above photos
