Gosford Golf Club hosted the 2013 District Mixed Foursomes Championships this year and we did have some excitement with a playoff for the Gross Winner of Division 2.  The playoff was between two Gosford teams (George & Vicki Foster & Craig Ward & Di Beechey) with George & Vicki coming out the winners after a three hole tussle played over the 1st, 12th & 11th holes in that order)

We had a lovely day for golf and it was great to be out in the sunshine regardless of the results.

The Golf Event of the day was the 2013 District Mixed Foursomes Championships.

DIVISION 1:

GROSS WINNERS: L. Anderson & P. Sliwinski (Shelly Beach) - 119 Gross

GROSS RUNNERS UP:  J. Goldsmith & R. Goldsmith (Shelly Beach) - 120 Gross

DIVISION 2:

GROSS WINNERS:  George Foster & Vicki Foster - 92 Gross (Play Off)

GROSS RUNNERS UP:  Craig Ward & Di Beechey - 92 Gross

18 HOLES NETT:

WINNERS:  Grahame Muller & Georgina Lamb - 75 Nett

RUNNERS UP:  Katherine Anderson & Neil Burland (Morissset) - 75 1/2 on a countback 

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me:  Raelene Buddolph (Everglades) & Craig Buddolph (Wyong) enjoyed their day on the course; Mary Bromwich & Warren Gray had a birdie on the 14th; Craig Ward & Di Beechey - scored 5 pars & Di got Craig out of trouble all day; Helen Broadbent had a good shot in to the 18th; Bill Broadbent putted well & had a gobbler on the 2nd for a par; Greg & Stephanie Rapmund (Mangrove Mountain) had a par on the 18th; Col & Lauren Matterson had a birdie on the 12th; Graham & Jo Montague (Mangrove Mountain) had a gobbler birdie on the 18th; George & Vicki Foster had 2 pars & played steady golf; Georgina Lamb chipped in for a par on the 8th; Lyn & Fraser Bates were entertained by their partners; Rosalie & Duncan Dyer had pars on the 2nd, 10th & 12th; Jan & Peter Martin had 3 pars & won a ball (hooray!).
