Golf - Sunday 18th November 2012











Grey skies turned to blue for our golf at Gosford today. Our playing partners were Ron & Lynn Puiatti and we had a good day on the village green. The boys beat the girls for the keno ticket on the 17th but aside from that we had a very enjoyable day.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Event for Men and Ladies + CCDGA Challenge Cup Final.

We had 107 starters with 50 visitors from Everglades, Magenta Shores, Mangrove Mountain, Morisset, Mt Coolum Qld, Shelly Beach, Terrigal, Toukley & Wyong.

WINNER:  Col Matterson - 44 points

RUNNER UP:  David Small - 41 points

3RD:  Arthur Collien - 40 points on a countback

4TH:  Scott Wrightman - 40 points on a countback

WOMEN'S SINGLES RESULTS:

WINNER:  Sunanta Duangwaw - 42 points

RUNNER UP:  Lauren Matterson - 41 points

3RD:  Kay Frewin - 39 points

4TH:  Jenny Stoles - 37 points on a countback

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me:  Ron Puiatti had a birdie on the 15th; Vicki Morris had a birdie on the 14th; George Foster's highlight was beating Vicki & Lynne for the keno ticket; Lauren Matterson had two 4 pointers and played steady golf; Col Matterson had birdies at the 2nd, 5th, 6th and the 16th - at the 5th hole Col's playing partner Geoff Darkes, hit his drive just short of the 5th green and Col's second shot cannoned off of Georff's ball and into the hole for a birdie (can't help good luck!!!!); Bert Brink had a 2/4 birdie on the 12th out of the bunker; Annie Brink chipped in on the 9th; Ron Dekker had a birdie 4/4 on the 2nd; Neville Walker had pars on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th and had 39 points; Jan Walker had a chip in on the 6th out of the bunker; Wyong Team had a good day with their highlight being - turning up and having some nice cakes out of the esky; Russell Stark (Wyong) had a birdie on the 14th; Norm Hollis (Wyong) had a birdie on the 10th;  Anne Forrester had 4/4 on the 3rd; and beating the boys for the keno ticket; Sunanta Duangwaw had 42 points including 3 pars in a row including 3 putting five greens; Robyn Johnston was an improved player; Kay Frewin had a chip in on the 2nd for 5/3 and had 4/4 on the 4th; Leanne Binns had a birdie on the 8th; John Storey got a birdie of the feathered kind; my highlight was a birdie on the 14th.
