Golf - Tuesday 10th April 2012

It was a shock to our systems to be confronted with a cold and windy day after the last  couple of balmy weeks.  The wind chill factor was not pleasant and the day would have been very acceptable in protected areas.

The Golf Event of the day was a Ladies Single Stableford + Vets in conjunction - (2nd Round of the CCWGA Brooch)

We had 68 starters.

WINNER:  Sue Hutton - 35 points

RUNNER UP:  Margaret Maclachlan - 34 points on a countback

3RD:  Marianne Lanham - 34 points

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Kerry Williams had two 4 pointers; Sue Hutton played a very nice game parring the 10th & the 12th and enjoying her new irons; Mary Beard chipped in for a par on the 1st and on the 5th chipped over the bunker and into the hole for a par; Maggie Minjoy had a nice 37 points having 4/4 on the 17th and 3/4 on the 8th;  my only highlights were three 3 pointers.

I received a comment on the blog from Nancy Incoll.  For those of you that do not read the "Comments" part of the blog I will repeat the message below:

"Hello Everybody.....Doug & Robin, Nancy & Greg from Scotland here.....just played Machrihanish Old Course - 1st hole voted the best in the world. Then a round at Machrihanish Dunes  - both rounds played in light  rain and a balmy 8.5 degree ......Brrrrr.
Happy golf to all.

The Incolls

Now we do not feel so bad about the cold wind at Gosford today!.

Great to hear some comments coming in from the Incolls to keep us all updated on their holiday excitement.
